A work placement is your opportunity to gain real-world experience with a professional host business related to your field of study. It allows you to apply your learning in a practical environment, develop confidence, and build valuable industry connections.

Placements are designed to help you experience how professionals in your industry work day-to-day, from assisting with projects to observing workflows and contributing to meaningful tasks that reflect your course outcomes.

You’ll become eligible for a work placement once you’ve:

• Completed your course in full
• Attended your 1-on-1 mentor session
• Paid your course fees in full

Once you’ve met these requirements, you’ll automatically receive a link to begin your Work Placement process. This will guide you through submitting your preferences, confirming eligibility, and starting the matching process.

1. Start your application: Upon course completion, use the link provided after course completion to share your goals, availability, and preferred location.
2. Matching: You’ll be offered up to two placement options that align with your study area, interests, and location.
3. Selection: You’ll need to choose one of these two options to proceed with your placement. If you decide not to select either of the provided opportunities and wish to receive new options, additional fees will apply.
4. Confirmation: You’ll connect with your chosen host business to confirm details and expectations.
5. Begin your placement: You’ll start your placement, which may be in-person or remote, depending on your location and the nature of the role.

Most placements run for 20 to 40 hours and can be completed full-time over several days or part-time across a few weeks.

Placements can be offered in-person or remotely, depending on the role, your study area, and your location:

• In-person placements allow you to work directly within a studio, clinic, or workplace for hands-on experience.
• Remote placements are ideal for creative, digital, and wellness roles that can be completed online.

Ulleo partners with a range of verified businesses and organisations, from interior design studios and wellness clinics to animal care facilities and digital agencies. Each host is carefully vetted to ensure a safe and valuable learning experience.

You’ll be supported every step of the way with:

• A dedicated placement portal to manage communication, upload documentation, and track your progress.
• Guidance and checklists to help you prepare professionally.
• CV and cover letter support (included in your Career Launch Bundle).

If you already have a business or organisation willing to host you, you’re also welcome to arrange your own placement. Ulleo can assist in formalising this to ensure it meets all requirements.

If a placement falls through or ends earlier than expected, you’ll be supported to either:

• Secure a new placement (additional fees may apply), or
• Complete an approved alternative project that demonstrates practical learning outcomes.

Our goal is to ensure every student gains meaningful, hands-on experience that supports their goals.

Once your placement is complete, you’ll submit your hours and reflection through the placement portal. You’ll then receive a Work Placement Completion Certificate, which can be added to your resume and LinkedIn profile to showcase your experience.

Yes. Ulleo accepts all major payment methods, including credit or debit card, PayPal, and flexible payment plans. If you choose a payment plan, you’ll still receive your bundle inclusions, but please note that the guaranteed work placement becomes available only after your course fees have been paid in full.
